Last night, I hosted a Happier Hour Literary Salon with authors Gretchen Rubin and Ron Lieber. What a tremendous treat. Gretchen, who was here for the third time – I featured her book The Happiness Project at my first ever Happier Hour in 2010 - talked about her new bestselling book Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives and Ron about his new bestselling book The Opposite of Spoiled: Raising Kids Who Are Grounded, Generous, and Smart About Money. The discussion that followed their remarks was predictably rich and fascinating.

Guests noshed on delicious food from chef Melanie Ann Cairns (whom I had the privilege of meeting through my friend Jeannie Uyanik of C&G Weddings) and drank beautiful Saget La Perrière La Petite Perrière Sauvignon Blanc and rosé wine and bought lots of books which were available for purchase courtesy of Posman Books.

As I always do on these wonderful evenings, I went to bed happier. Oh, and exciting news: After five years of hosting Happier Hours, I’m building a proper stand-alone site to house all information about these events. I will let you guys all know when it is up and running!
